CChildren’s Sunday School

Welcome to the Cordata Kids Clubhouse

Our curriculum immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids curriculum, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

Kids Clubhouse meets every Sunday

July

We pushed our lesson plans up a week due to the mid-year Congregation meeting where kids stayed in service. So July’s lessons include all but one lesson from unit 16.

HOPE FOR CAPTIVES

Sunday Morning Clubhouse kids will learn that consequences are tough! The people are in exile because of their failure to follow His plans and worship Him only. However, while the people were far away from the land God had given them, they were not far from God. The kids will see that the Lord was with His people even while they were in exile. He watched over them and promised that they would one day return to the land. When they did, they would return to Him as well.

The last Sunday of July we get to see how God brought His people home from the book of Ezra.

KEY PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 10:31

BIG PICTURE QUESTION: How can we glorify God?
Answer: We can glorify God by loving Him and obeying Him.

JULY LESSONS

Unit 16 Lessons:

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3)
  • Daniel in the Lion’s Den (Daniel 6)
  • Daniel’s Prophesies (Daniel 7-12)

Unit 17 Lesson:

  • God Brought His People Home (Ezra 1-3)

June

We’ll be wandering the dessert, learning how to be God’s people with the Israelites this month. Kids will see that God continues to show Himself faithful to the Israelites, even though He knew they would be unfaithful to Him. God gave His people commands to follow because He loved them. God instructed the Israelites on how to love Him and other people. He gave them clear instructions on what it means to worship Him alone.

BIG PICTURE QUESTION: Why do we need to be saved?
Answer: People are sinful and cannot save themselves.

KEY PASSAGE: 1 Samuel 2:2

NO Kids Clubhouse Class on June 15th . Children will remain with their parents during this special off-site service at Zuanich Point Park. We will provide activity sheets and busy bags to help keep “the wiggles” at bay (ha- get it- we’ll be at the bay). Kids will be welcome to hang out just outside the pavilion with Bonnie and Evangeline during the meeting portion of the service.

JUNE LESSONS:  Unit 5 “God Instructs His People”:

  • The Ten Commandments (Exodus 19–20; 31),
  • The Golden Calf (Exodus 32; 34)
  • Building the Tabernacle (Exodus 35–40),
  • Worship at the Tabernacle (Leviticus 16; 19; 26)

May

We will begin May lessons with the final lesson of unit 14 –The Northern Kingdom. We will learn how the Northern kingdom of Israel was destroyed because of the Israelites’ sin. God’s gracious patience lasted for years, but the people failed to repent and seek the Lord wholeheartedly. Repentance is a subject we’ve been really focusing on lately.

We start Unit 15 – The Southern Kingdom the second week in May, learning about the Good Kings of Judah. Kids will learn that the Southern Kingdom of Judah experienced the reign of both good and evil kings. Yet, the people’s allegiance was divided between the worship of God and the idols of foreign nations. God sent prophets (Micah; Nahum; Habakkuk; Zephaniah), to warn the people to turn back to Him, but they did not listen. God disciplined His people by sending them into captivity in Babylon but promised they would one day return home.

We will pause our study on May 24th for the One Spirit Many Congregations service.*
