CChildren’s Sunday School

Welcome to the Cordata Kids Clubhouse

Our curriculum immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids curriculum, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

Kids Clubhouse meets every Sunday

We will begin May lessons with the final lesson of unit 14 –The Northern Kingdom. We will learn how the Northern kingdom of Israel was destroyed because of the Israelites’ sin. God’s gracious patience lasted for years, but the people failed to repent and seek the Lord wholeheartedly. Repentance is a subject we’ve been really focusing on lately.

We start Unit 15 – The Southern Kingdom the second week in May, learning about the Good Kings of Judah. Kids will learn that the Southern Kingdom of Judah experienced the reign of both good and evil kings. Yet, the people’s allegiance was divided between the worship of God and the idols of foreign nations. God sent prophets (Micah; Nahum; Habakkuk; Zephaniah), to warn the people to turn back to Him, but they did not listen. God disciplined His people by sending them into captivity in Babylon but promised they would one day return home.

We will pause our study on May 24th for the One Spirit Many Congregations service.*

In the Jonah lesson we’ll see that while Nineveh repented and was spared God’s judgment, the nation of Israel refused to worship God alone.

March

We just completed learning about King Soloman’s wisdom and accomplishments. Now we learn how Solomon’s unfaithfulness to God led to a divided and troubled kingdom.

We begin a new study volume this month: Volume 5 – DIVISION AND DEFIANCE

This 13-week study will reveal the many warnings God’s people received—warnings to seek repentance from their sinful, idolatrous ways and turn to God. Because God is holy, good, and loving, He promised a new covenant for His people: one forever written on their hearts.

In March’s study unit: A Troubled Kingdom, we will be introduced to the prophet Elijah and how God demonstrated His presence, power, and preeminence as the one true God.

KEY PASSAGE: 1 Kings 8:60

BIG PICTURE QUESTION: How many gods are there?
Answer: There is only one true God who alone deserves worship

  • The Kingdom Divided (1 Kings 11–13)
  • Evil Kings (1 Kings 14–15; 2 Chronicles 12–13)
